The Idea

When the board is the machine, the parts disappear.

Conventional motion systems bolt together four subsystems from four suppliers — four interfaces, four points of failure, four times the cost and size. Novamot's design tools and patents let one PCB do all four jobs at once.

The Physics

Coreless axial-flux — built for precise motion.

A PCB motor is an axial-flux machine whose stator winding is printed as copper traces on a circuit board — no hand-wound wire, no iron core. Removing the core gives it exactly the properties precision robotics, gimbals and drones depend on.

Zero cogging torque

No detent steps or torque ripple — smooth, sub-degree positioning and pointing, ideal for gimbals and precision actuators.

Low phase inductance

Current rises and settles fast, enabling high control bandwidth and rapid response — paired with GaN drives switching at MHz.

Axially stackable

Stack rotors and stators on one shaft to add redundancy or scale torque — without redesigning the machine.

Novamot spins out of Novator Enerji (ODTÜ Teknokent, 2023), co-founded by two METU professors. The technology is rooted in METU PowerLab's decade of work on electric machines and power electronics.
